An ordinance for the establishment, protection, conservation, and maintenance of community small watershed areas, otherwise known as the Burauen Community Watershed Code of 2010.
Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Burauen, Leyte, in session, that
CHAPTER I – GENERAL PROVISIONS
SECTION 1. TITLE. – This Ordinance shall be known as the Establishment, Protection, Conservation and Maintenance of Community Small Watershed Areas, otherwise known as the “Burauen Community Watershed Code of 2010”.
SECTION 2. SCOPE. – This Ordinance shall govern the rules and regulations in the – administration/management, proper protection, conservation, preservation and regular maintenance of the established and/or to be established community small watershed areas.
SECTION 3. INTENT.
a.) To establish or delineate the main coverage areas of the Community Small Watershed Areas and protect the forest from damage, destruction, as well as prevent any illegal acts that may cause adverse effect towards the environment, disturb the habitat of wild animals and birds, and most likely decrease of the water supply;
b.) To preside over the proper management and control, protection, conservation, preservation and maintenance of the watershed areas for the sustainable water supply of the whole community, whereby enhancing the viability of the ecosystem; and
c.) To regulate the visitation, eco-hiking, camping and other similar activities that will imperil the natural environment within the watershed areas.
