An ordinance amending Chapter III, Article A, Section 3A.05 of Municipal Ordinance No. 09, Series of 1999, to include paragraph (C), providing for the establishment of meat shops in the municipality, prescribing its rules and regulations in the maintenance and operation of the same business.
Be it ordained by the honorable Sangguniang Bayan of Burauen, Leyte, in session assembled, that
SECTION 1 – This ordinance shall apply to all meat shop establishments operating in the municipality of Burauen, Leyte.
SECTION 2 – Chapter III, Article A, Section 3A.05, Paragraph (c) shall read as follows:
(c) Operation of meat shops shall strictly follow the following rules and regulations governing the same business establishment:
- aa. Shall secure an annual sanitary permit to operate and a food handler’s certificate from the Office of the Municipal Health Officer;
- bb. Operator and helper shall submit for an annual medical examination and secure health certificate from the Municipal Health Officer;
- cc. No other commodities shall be sold except meat products of pigs, cows, carabaos and goats; chickens and ducks;
- dd. Meat products shall be displayed inside a chiller;
- ee. Hanging of meat products is prohibited;
- ff. Pigs, goats, carabaos, and cows shall be slaughtered in the municipal slaughterhouse;
- gg. Operator shall provide a hanging and/or digital/electronic weighing scale.
SECTION 3 – The Municipal Health Officer or her duly authorized representative shall conduct a periodic inspection in order to determine their adequacy of general sanitary condition in conformity with the rules and regulations governing the same establishment.
